Thanksgiving Give-a-way!

Ok, it is time for my big Thanksgiving Give-a-way! Yeah, I know it was last week, I am still thankful! So, on to the prizes! Yep, I decided to do more than one.

First up is a collection of findings. Featuring a LOT of chandelier components, as well as some earring findings, and some head pins (including some with crystals at the end!) and two cha cha bracelet bases. Metals are plated base metal.



Prize pack number two is a collections of various beads. Some faux pearls, some glass beads, some mother of pearl, some metal leaves, some polymer earrings, and some other random stuff.



Prize pack number three is slightly smaller, but has some awesome funky/vintage pieces, and a couple of pendants I made.

Pay it Forward Handmade Give a Way

So, a week or so ago I won the Pay it Forward handmade Give a Way over at Michelle Mach's blog. As part of winning a handmade item from her, I agreed to host a give a way for a handmade item. The winners of my give a way will need to agree to do the same, and so on down the line. An endless chain of handmade presents!

The Rules

For the first three people to comment on the blog (with an email address so I can contact you!) I will create a unique handmade item and mail it to you within 365 days. What that item is... well, you won't know. Maybe it will be one of my rings, or a pair of earrings, or a special card, a resin pendant, a fabric holiday pin... could be anything!

As for what I was making, there were no correct guesses (thus the random number generation). What you saw on Monday was me making a two part mold of a ring I had carved from wax.

The mold was made so that I could make resin copies of the ring (and maybe someday metal clay versions!). Below is my first resin ring... not great. I didn't add enough resin, and there was some leakage at the edges that caused little bits and things... but not bad either.

I will definitely be trying again with this mold and making other 2 part molds. This weekend I will take pictures of full process from the carving on and get those posted next week.

Monday Givaway

My First Give-a-way!

So, some of you may have caught on already, but for those that haven't I will just say it.


I like rings.


I like rings a lot. Specifically, I like to design and make rings. Why? Mostly, because they are quick! I am a big fan of the instant gratification. But also, because of the challenge of creating something interesting on such a small canvas.

So, for my very first blog giva-a-way I have decided to give a ring. Made by me!

You can comment anytime between now and midnight CT on Wednesday March 28. Then on Friday, March 30, I will announce the winner (chosen by random number generator).
